27. 7. 2018

Czech Media Invest (CMI) today completed the acquisition of the radio stations in the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Romania owned by the French Lagardère Group. These acquisitions are in line with Czech Media Invest’s development strategy in the media segment. CMI thus acquires a new media library built on strong radio brands.

“Frekvence 1 and Evropa 2 are undoubtedly the best you can hear in the Czech ether. But, of course, it is not only about these big stations, there is a great potential for development lying in other radios as well as in digital projects, namely Youradio, a service for listening to music online on the web and on the mobile device. The group is particularly strong on social networks. We are glad to welcome employees and co-workers of Lagardère Active CR to the dynamically developing family of Czech Media Invest, ” said CMI board member Daniel Častvaj.

In addition to Czech radio stations, the leading radio stations in Poland, Romania and the Slovak station Europa 2 are part of today’s closed trade.

Czech Media Invest, through its subsidiary Czech News Center, is the leading media house in the Czech Republic. It publishes four diaries, several dozen magazines and web titles. The company also owns two printers and is a leader in book publishing and print distribution. CMI owners are entrepreneurs Daniel Křetínský (50%), Patrik Tkáč (40%) and Roman Korbačka (10%).
